Meet the Counselor
Jessica Cumbers (BSW, LMSW) has been employed by GWA as the Lower School Counselor since August 2015. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and obtained her professional social work license from the State of South Carolina and School Social Work Certification from the State of Alaska. Ms. Cumbers is also a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Prior to joining GWA as the Lower School Counselor, she worked in public schools in both South Carolina and Alaska. Ms. Cumbers loves working with children of all ages and is eager to serve the students of GWA.

The counselor provides services to help students be successful socially, emotionally and academically through:
- Individual counseling
- Group counseling
- Classroom guidance lessons
- Collaboration with teachers, parents, administrators, and community resources
