Upper School

As an American school in Morocco, our goal is to prepare lifelong learners who pursue excellence, model integrity, and honor cultural diversity. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students with the skills to successfully transition to universities worldwide.

Our students pursue coursework based upon rigorous external standards in English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Additionally, students are taught French, Arabic, PE, Health, Visual Arts, Drama, Music, and Technology. This breadth of instruction is commonly understood to be “The American Model.

GWA’s middle school years offer a comprehensive advisory program. Meanwhile, students learn in an environment directly connected to technology devices.

GWA is offering the IB Diploma Programme®, Advance Placement courses and tests, and standards-based American curriculum for students to choose which track best fits their learning goals. High school begins with the Freshman Academy in Grade 9, with students starting to build their four-year transcripts of courses and grades while transitioning from their middle school years into the pinnacle of their learning experience before college.

As with the earlier learning divisions, GWA's qualified high school faculty focuses on students mastering the curricular standards in ways that also hone important 21st Century skills like problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and more. Students' access to technology devices continues through 12th grade, shifting from Chromebooks to laptops.

The high school also continues the advisory program through grade 10 while shifting to age-appropriate topics, themes, and activities fitted to older adolescents to help prepare them for college and life after graduating. GWA's multiple pathways let students choose the right approach to maximize their learning, engage in their studies, and find academic success while preparing to transition to college/university in Morocco or worldwide.
