Primary Welcome Letter
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to a new school year at George Washington Academy! We are excited to begin another joyful and meaningful year of learning and growth in the Primary School. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we’re so glad you’re part of our community.
This year, we are building on the strong foundation we’ve created together by continuing and expanding many of the programs that have made such a positive impact on our students.
Academically, we are thrilled to continue using Amplify - our engaging literacy curriculum, which brings fresh energy to reading and writing instruction across all grade levels. Students will benefit from dynamic new units and activities that promote a love for literacy while developing critical reading and writing skills. We'll also continue to use our literacy assessment tool to closely monitor student progress and personalize instruction to best support each learner.
We are equally excited to launch a new math curriculum, HMH Into Math, which is designed to enhance mathematical thinking and skill-building at every grade level. This program offers a clear, structured approach to math instruction while encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence in numeracy.
In support of students’ social and emotional well-being, daily morning meetings will continue to create a sense of community in every classroom. Through the Second Step program, students will further develop key life skills such as empathy, cooperation, and respectful communication.
Our Positive Behavior program also continues this year, reinforcing the values of being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready. Students will once again have the chance to earn Mustang Money and receive positive recognition for their efforts—including those special phone calls home!
Outside the classroom, students will enjoy a rich array of learning experiences through field trips, after-school activities, clubs, and school-wide events. These opportunities help bring learning to life and create lasting memories.
We are excited to welcome new families to our GWA community, and are eager to hear summer stories from returning students. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership—we look forward to another fantastic year together!
Warmest regards,
Dr. Mike Keppler

Secondary Welcome Letter
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to another exciting year at George Washington Academy! Since 1998, GWA has been dedicated to equipping minds and building character, providing a dynamic, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment for our high school students. Supported by an outstanding teaching staff and excellent facilities, we focus on helping each student reach their fullest potential by being Ready, Respectful, and Responsible—the “3 Rs” that shape our program and community values.
At GWA, we foster a collaborative and cross-curricular approach to learning, designed to inspire students to connect ideas across subjects, work effectively with others, and develop a well-rounded understanding of the world. We offer multiple graduation pathways, including a wide range of course options to meet diverse goals and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12, a highly respected credential recognized worldwide.
Our commitment to holistic education extends beyond academics. We encourage students to participate in activities including athletics and service, where they can build skills, develop empathy, and positively impact both our school and the community.
The Secondary Handbook is a vital resource, outlining essential policies and procedures to support student success. With clearly defined expectations, we aim to foster an environment where every student can thrive.
I look forward to working closely with each of our students and families, both new and returning, as we continue to build on our legacy of excellence and character-building.
Warm regards,
Dr. Pierre
