Primary Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at George Washington Academy! We are thrilled to begin another joyful, meaningful year of learning and growth in the Primary School. Whether you are returning or joining us for the very first time, we are so glad to have you as part of our Mustang community.

This year, we are building on our strong foundation by continuing and expanding the programs that have made such a positive impact on our students. Here is a look at what we are focusing on this year:

Academic Excellence & Curriculum

  • Amplify Literacy: We are moving into another year with our engaging literacy curriculum, bringing fresh energy to reading and writing across all grade levels. Students will dive into dynamic new units designed to foster a lifelong love for literacy while building critical skills. We will also continue utilizing our targeted literacy assessment tools to closely monitor progress and personalize instruction for every learner.

  • HMH Into Math: Our math instruction will continue to utilize the HMH Into Math curriculum. This program offers a clear, structured approach that enhances mathematical thinking, encourages deep problem-solving, and builds confident, capable young mathematicians.

Social-Emotional Learning & Community

  • Morning Meetings & Second Step: To support our students' social and emotional well-being, we will continue our daily classroom morning meetings to build a strong sense of belonging. Through the Second Step program, students will also participate in weekly lessons to develop vital life skills like empathy, cooperation, and respectful communication.

  • Positive Behavior Support (PBIS): Our campus-wide positive behavior program remains a cornerstone of our school culture. We love reinforcing our core values: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready. Students will have plenty of opportunities to earn "Mustang Money" and receive positive recognition for their efforts—including those special celebratory phone calls home!

Beyond the Classroom

Learning at GWA goes far beyond textbooks. This year, students will enjoy a rich array of experiential learning opportunities through field trips, after-school activities, clubs, and school-wide events that bring their education to life and create lasting memories.

We are truly excited to welcome our new families and are eager to hear all the wonderful summer stories from our returning students. Thank you for your continued trust, collaboration, and partnership. Together, let’s make it a fantastic year!

Warmest regards,

Dr. Mike Keppler

Secondary Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Students,

Dear George Washington Academy community,

I am honored and excited to join GWA as the next Secondary School Principal. As my family and I prepare for our move to Morocco, we are filled with anticipation for the opportunities ahead and grateful for the warm welcome we have already received.

Throughout my career, I have believed that great schools are built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to helping every student grow. What drew me to GWA was not only its reputation for academic excellence, but also its commitment to developing compassionate, responsible, and globally minded young people. Those values resonate deeply with me both as an educator and as a parent.

As I begin this new chapter, I look forward to getting to know the students, families, faculty, and staff who make GWA such a special community. I am eager to learn the traditions, stories, and aspirations that shape the school while working together to support every student's success and well-being.

My family and I are excited to become part of the GWA community, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the months ahead. Thank you for welcoming us to Morocco and to George Washington Academy.

Warm regards,

Mark Robinson
