Secondary School

Fostering Excellence and Global Citizenship!

Grade 6-12

At GWA Secondary School, we equip minds and build character through an academically rigorous program. With multiple graduation pathways, we empower students to reach their fullest potential.

Secondary Principal Message

Welcome to another exciting year at George Washington Academy! Since 1998, GWA has been dedicated to equipping minds and building character, providing a dynamic, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment for our high school students. Supported by an outstanding teaching staff and excellent facilities, we focus on helping each student reach their fullest potential by being Ready, Respectful, and Responsible—the “3 Rs” that shape our program and community values.

At GWA, we foster a collaborative and cross-curricular approach to learning, designed to inspire students to connect ideas across subjects, work effectively with others, and develop a well-rounded understanding of the world. We offer multiple graduation pathways, including a wide range of course options to meet diverse goals and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12, a highly respected credential recognized worldwide.

Our commitment to holistic education extends beyond academics. We encourage students to participate in activities including athletics and service, where they can build skills, develop empathy, and positively impact both our school and the community.

The Secondary Handbook is a vital resource, outlining essential policies and procedures to support student success. With clearly defined expectations, we aim to foster an environment where every student can thrive.

I look forward to working closely with each of our students and families, both new and returning, as we continue to build on our legacy of excellence and character-building.

Warm regards,

Dr. Pierre
Secondary Principal

learning Approach

At George Washington Academy, our curriculum is intentionally designed to reflect our mission and core values, ensuring a relevant, rigorous, and meaningful education for every student. We achieve this through a thoughtfully integrated learning experience that builds from foundational standards to advanced programs.

The school follows Common Core standards in Math and ELA, Next Generation Science Standards, and AERO Social Studies in middle school. This provides a robust and engaging educational journey. As students progress, our commitment to academic excellence culminates in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program for grades 11-12. This comprehensive approach equips our students not only for academic success but also for real-world applications, embodying our dedication to fostering well-rounded, prepared individuals.

Beyond Classrooms

Preparing for life beyond the classroom:

Real-world learning is woven throughout the GWA experience. Our students participate in internships, field trips, service projects, and community engagement, gaining insight into their communities and potential career paths. These experiences allow students to apply their learning in practical settings, enhancing their understanding of themselves, their communities, and the impact they can have on the world.

At GWA, we prepare students not just for the next step academically, but for meaningful contributions in life beyond the classroom.
