Elementary Academic Program (K-5th)
Our elementary program is designed to develop the academic, social, physical, and language skills necessary to successfully complete the Common Core State Standards and GWA Curriculum goals when students begin 6th grade.
As an American school in Morocco, our goal is to prepare “… multilingual, lifelong learners who pursue excellence, model integrity, and honor cultural diversity.” Our curriculum is designed to prepare students with the skills to successfully transition to an American university. They also are comparable to other nations’ standards, so with advanced language skills, students will have options to pursue study in Morocco and abroad.
Our students pursue coursework in the Core English subjects of Reading, Writing, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Additionally, students are taught French, Arabic, PE, Art, Music, and Technology. This breadth of instruction is commonly understood to be “The American Model.”
Additionally, GWA teaches the students character traits that integrate the best American and Moroccan values to build character and empower our students. We strive to model these traits in our own lives and recognize them in our students. In doing so we hope to “serve Morocco and the global community with wisdom and compassion.”
