Welcome from the Head of School

At George Washington Academy, our mustangs are our ultimate priority. We are fiercely dedicated to equipping every child with the academic strength, emotional resilience, and social confidence they need to thrive. We don’t just prepare students for the future—we empower them to shape it.

We know we cannot do it alone. Your partnership as parents is the cornerstone of our community. We are committed to building bridges of communication and trust so that, hand-in-hand, we create an environment where every child feels an undeniable sense of belonging and the confidence to push beyond their limits.

GWA Families and Guardians,

It is an honor to introduce myself as your new Head of School and to join the GWA family. My name is Gerald Redd, and I am delighted to be making this transition together with my wife, Alondra, our son, Jude, and our daughter, Penelope.

As a family, we are excited to call Casablanca—and GWA—our new home and community. In the coming months, you can expect me to be visible, approachable, and deeply engaged in the life of the school.

I believe in listening carefully, communicating clearly, and making decisions that keep our mustangs at the center. I will work closely with teachers, staff, students, and families to ensure that every learner is known, challenged, and supported, and that our programs reflect both high expectations and genuine care.

I also want to acknowledge the strong foundation that has been built under the leadership of Dr. Wendy Rubin and her team. Their work has positioned GWA for continued growth, and I am committed to honoring that legacy by building on what is already working well—strengthening teaching and learning, supporting student wellbeing, and further connecting our school to the wider community.

As we settle into Casablanca, my family and I look forward to getting to know each one of you—at school events, in classrooms, on the sidelines of activities, and in everyday conversations. Thank you in advance for your warm welcome and for your partnership in the important work of educating and empowering our students.

Once again, thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. I am truly excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for our students and our school community. Let us work together to make the next school year a memorable and enriching experience for everyone. Wishing you and your family a wonderful summer.

With appreciation and respect,

Gerald Redd
